Schulich has begun a unique Health Industry Management Program building on the strengths of the school. The industry includes healthcare (as traditionally defined), pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, human biotech companies, health charities and a wide variety of health related support and service organizations.

This diagram gives a description of the key players and their roles.

The program is designed for entry level and mid-career professionals in the health industry who need to understand the other players more deeply.

Despite great efforts and resources, management is increasingly being seen as inadequate in healthcare. Schulich has responded to this challenge by providing teaching and research opportunities into the nature of healthcare. The Health Industry Management Program is a forum for cross-disciplinary, cross-clinical specialization and cross-sectoral discussions which deepen the understanding of the nature of the industry, the players and hence the risks and opportunities it faces - at home and across the globe.
